Here are some new questions for you...

Hey guys,

Even though you don't seem to have any problem coming up with things to talk about on your own, I thought I would give you some more food for thought...

  • Do you think the teachers at Joey's school are helping him, or do you think they are making him worse? What could they do to help him?
  • Do you think Joey is a bad kid? Lot's of people in the book think that. How would convince them that they are wrong?

I do not think that the teachers at joey's school are helping him like, a WHOLE lot or anything, but i don't exactly think that they totaly neglect him. I don't think that Joey is a bad kid because he sounds like a very nice person. and he can't help but to be so hyper and not pay attention sometimes. Also, his brain actually just sort-of thinks faster than usual people. So it is hard for him to think before he does something, thats what my psychiatrist said sbout me at least.

If you think that the teacher at Joey's school doesn't know he has ADD because she sent him to the principle's office you've probably gotten this tiny part wrong. Just because a student has ADD does NOT mean that they have to have those different punishments. For example me, when I misbehave the teachers at our school don't let me go too loosely, I get punished, just like everybody else. So people with ADD aren't really that different from normal kids like you, and really, me too.

No i dont think the teachers at the school are making him worse the reason they sent him to the special ad room was because they wanted him to get better and calmer at stuff.

Anonymous said...

Joey is not a bad kid because he cant help being like that. People in the book shouldnt think that because some of them i think dont know he has add.To convince them that they are wrong you could tell them he has add and that he cant help acting like that.

Anonymous said...

No but kind of because they sent him to the special-ad room.I do not think they are making him worse.

I dont think joey is a bad kid, because it is not his fault that he has a.d.d. They are wrong because they dont know how it feels like to have realy bad a.d.d.

Anonymous said...

I don't think their helping him because they are being mean to him.I think the teachers could try and help him in a nicer way.

Anonymous said...

I think he is a good kid it's just that he is different so they thinkhe is a bad kid.

Anonymous said...

I dont think there halping him. It might just make him feel worse sometimes.

Anonymous said...

i dont think he is a bad kid bacause it is not his fault he has add.

Anonymous said...

i think it is a very good ideal for the teachers to make an special room for less fortunate kids.

Anonymous said...

i think Joey is a very good kid and i dont think anyone should think different because it's not his fault that he has a.d.d.

Anonymous said...

I think the teachers are being a little hard on him, not that they're mean they just need to under stand he has problems at the highest level. I don't think he's a bad kid, he just can't control himsef.

Anonymous said...

bre you spelled helping wrong.

Anonymous said...

I really don't think Joey's teachers are helping him because they probabily don't understand what A.D.D. is like. So telling him to be calm is a LOT easier said than done. When you're A.D.D. you want fun more than anything else. The teachers are practicly saying "Stop having fun and be as bored as a board, young man!" I think Joey is actually A.D.H.D. But that's just me. And it's called Special-Ed, not special-ad.

Joey isn't a bad kid. He definitly doesn't attack people(KCM responce). And being punished for things you can't help won't help either.

Anonymous said...

as a comment to arc's responce I sort-of might agree with you, but have also my own opinion. I think that you ae right about him just wanting to have fun and maybe he does have AD/HD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) because this is what I have been diagnosed with myself. I have a question- is there a difference between ADD and AD/HD? at my phycyatrst office they always ask if you like them to say "ADD" or "AD/HD". But- I'm not sure if punishing Joey will help or not. Also...why doesn't joey go to neuro feedback? wait- you probally don't know what this means. it is like where you go sometimes if you have AD/HD, you go in and sit down, the person tells you to relax, it is actually kinda hard though. it is hard for me at least. but- to know that you are actually sitting still and stuff, the person looks at your 'brain map' on their cumputer. wires are stuck (with paste) onto your head. It is super hard for me sometimes. I am getting better every day!

I don't think the teachers are helping Joey at all because they are just scolding him. I don't think Joey is bad. He can't help being hyper because he has A.d.d.

Anonymous said...

I agree with arc I think joey might have A.D.H.D. he is hyper.(Jumping off the barn into a haysack!)

Anonymous said...

I think that the teachers are not helping if any thing they are makingit worse. I think the teachers can help by being more understanding.

Anonymous said...

Now I changed my mind about the teachers not helping him and them being mean. I think that some teachers are really trying to help Joey but other teachers are not helping Joey and they are the ones being mean.

Anonymous said...

I think that the teachers at Joeys school aren't really helping him, just making it all worse. Also, i don't think that Joey's a bad kid. I think i could convince the kids in the book that he isn't by saying that Joey has A.D.H.D. to the max. He tries to be good, but the more he tries, the more he's bad.

Anonymous said...

I think his teachers are making him feel worse than better. It is not his fault that he has a.d.d and its not his fault that he cant sit still. I think he needs help.

Anonymous said...

I think joey is just realy misunderstud

Anonymous said...

This book is awesome. I love the book.I didnt like when joey pooped out the key. I thought it fell out of his back pocket but a lot of people say he pooped it out. i think joey is a dare devil to just go and grab a pie and eat it all. I think it was funny that he thought there were shoes and flys in the pie. I dont think the teacher is fair she should of just gave him a little piece of the pie. If the teacher gave joey a little piece of the pie he would at least not of gotin the whole pie, and would not of fallen off the roof.

Anonymous said...

this book is sooo good so far I think joey is realy cool. i think it was realy gross when joey pooped out the key and he asked a kid if he wanted a sniff. i dont think that it is that fair that joey has to wear those slippers jut because he was hitting a chair with his feet i always hit my feet on chairs, but i never get in trouble for it and i dont get why the fussy slippers would help him.

Anonymous said...

I think they are trying to help but they need to help him and let him do stuff to. they could help him by watching him all day and not leving him alone to swallow a key. I think Joey is a good kid but people think he is messed up because he has A.D.D.

Anonymous said...

There is a difference fromm A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. But when you're A.D.D. to the max, it's hard to tell between the two things.

Anonymous said...

When you're A.D.D. to the max you could be this(_) close to being A.D.H.D. At the point where you jump into haystacks, it's really hard to tell. Just sayin', it's hard to tell if Joey is one or the other!

Anonymous said...

the book even said he had add, so we know he has add really bad

Anonymous said...

I don't think that the teachers are making it worse. They just are not helping him in a nice way. Joey isn't a lost cuase or anything. He can't help himself, he just can't think straight. The teachers need to understand that. They help him by send in his persciptions and not give himself anything to hurt himself or others.

Does anyone think that when Joey accidentaly cut the woman's nose off he was "attacking" her? I think he wasn't. I think it's considered attack when you cut someone's nose off on purpose. But, AGAIN, that's just me. I want to know what everyone else thinks.

Anonymous said...

Who else in the group besides me is A.D.D./A.D.H.D.? I just want to know. If you are either of them, please tell which one.

Does anyone think that the special ed room is kind of weird, i do because why would they have bunny slippers for a ten year old boy? I dont like the teacher because she didnt let him do anything on the field trip.I thougt it was weird that he thought the owl was talking to him like WHO and he thought it meant who are you. I wouldnt be able to sneak in and grab a pie. I think joey is a dare devil to go and sneak in. I also every once in a while i think about the grandma and what happend to the dad. i think that joeys techer might not let him go to the next grade because all sh really does is send him to the special ed room. I dont think that joey ever would cry because he didnt get to really do anything at the field trip and he just didnt cry.Who likes this book i LOVE IT A LOT. it might even be my favorite.

Anonymous said...

I thought it was really-super groose when joey pooped out the key. He came into school and screamed it out too! how GROSE!! what do you think about this???

Anonymous said...

I agree with acg it was realley gross. It was realey gross when he ate it again and he pulled it back up and it had pasta on it. Personaley I think that chihuahua are the stupidest dog U can get. there so so small and cowardly, every one thinks there cute

Anonymous said...

If anyone thinks that the pooping the key thing is gross then you probably havn't read chapter 7 yet. Read that chapter, then say how gross that is. Maybe the moral of that chapter is "don't run with sissors". I think special-ed is "special" for a reason. It's meant for crippled children, right? No offence to any crippled children anyone may know. Joey isn't crippled, he's A.D.D. There is a HUGE difference between crippled and A.D.D.

Anonymous said...

even though you already know, if you read my blog before... I have AD/HD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder) read ARC's responce.

Anonymous said...

Hey arc i have a question for you. How is having A.Dd.D. like? Is it dreadful or do you like it?

Anonymous said...

Hey cch you messed up your supposed to type in arc not acg thats a totally different person!

Anonymous said...

i think Joeys mom should home school Joey that way Joey wont do anything dangerous like swallow his key.

Anonymous said...

ri, i know acg has add but i dont think a arc does.

Anonymous said...

did you think it was grose when Maria got her nose cut. I thought that she just got a bludy nose at first but i guess not.I LOVE THIS BOOK DOES ANYONE ELSE?

Anonymous said...

hey, mos,
Joey's mom can't home school him bcause she has to work to get money to take care of Joey. but, it would be really nice if she could!!!

Anonymous said...

did you know that add is more commonly found in boys- well, it is. also, it is usually more affective to boys. isn't that weird???

Anonymous said...

arc Mrs.b told me that you did have add so i am sorry that i thought you didnt.

Anonymous said...

Mos i agree with acg idont think he should be home schooled.i dont like special Ed because he dosent seem so niece to me , because to get so mad about putting bandads on his stomach you dont have to get mad and anyways he left Joey in the room by himself, so it was his fault.

Anonymous said...

acg, is A.D.D./A.D.H.D. more commonly found in boys because it's uassally left untreated for boys more or is it just natural? NOTE: By untreated I mean treated badly like just saying settle down and that's it.

I like blogs. The word I like alone. Heh...heh....blog, blog, blog, blog, blog, blog......heh...heh...same feelings for the book.....maybe the first book I've acually enjoyed.....Joey's grandma is mean.....as in (>:}D)....evil smiley......weird style of blogging...this is how somebody with A.D.D. might type...arc...out.
